“Point Pleasant” – the show that filled in for “Tru Calling” has been cancelled after only 9 episodes due to bad ratings. Well, the good news is that “Tru Calling” season 2 (those 6 terrific episodes) will replace “Point Pleasant” starting on March 31st! So be sure to tune in to the show and show your support. In other “Tru Calling” news – the region 2 dvd which comes out on May 8th, will not only feature all season 1 episodes but also the 6 episodes of season 2 among many extras!!! This makes it a special box set since the region 1 release only featured season 1. I would have bought this set anyways but now I’m soooo looking forward to it!

From: journalnow.comQ. Do you know if Fox is going to bring Tru Calling back? Are they canceling it? – B.T.A. The fate of Tru Calling is unclear. After its low-rated first season on Fox, the series – a supernatural drama with Eliza Dushku as a woman who travels through time to rescue people – was renewed for a second season. The renewal surprised some industry observers, who expected the show to be canceled.Fox ordered 13 episodes for the second season, which was scheduled to start Nov. 4, 2004. Then Fox postponed the season premiere and cut the order from 13 to six episodes. To date, Fox has not decided when – or if – those six episodes will be shown. The first season has been released on DVD by Fox Home Entertainment.Well, at least it’s not officially cancelled…

From: greatlink.orgOn October 16th and 17th, Eliza Dushku and Shawn Reaves appeared at the London Movie, Comic and Media Expo in the UK. They signed autographs for hundreds of fans, and did confirm that Tru Calling has been canceled. According to multiple reports from fans who spoke to him, Shawn said that fans need to fight to see the six episodes that were filmed for Season 2. So help Shawn and Eliza and join the fight to Save Tru! Also, the news posted on Miracleshq.com has been confirmed to be accurate: “Tru Calling” has been cancelled before the second season has a chance to begin this fall. FOX cut the order of episodes from 13 to six and then just as shooting for the sixth episode was wrapping up, the cancellation came out. There are no immediate plans to air the final six episodes. A DVD of the first season is set to come out in December, and if it sells well, they might release the final six episodes on DVD at a later date.

Is “Tru Calling” this year’s “The Ortegas,” the Fox show ordered but never heard from again last year? Could be. The network has decided to scale back on “Tru Calling” before the show’s second season has even begun. The Eliza Dushku drama won’t premiere Nov. 4 as planned and will be replaced by “North Shore.” The network also now only wants six episodes of “Tru” as opposed to the 13 it originally ordered. Fox also tinkered with other parts of its schedule. Oscar De La Hoya’s “The Next Great Champ” (he wasn’t so great on Saturday, getting knocked out by Bernard Hopkins) has received the TV equivalent of a standing eight count as it will leave the prime-time schedule Tuesday only to return 8 p.m. Fridays starting Oct. 22. {Sign On San Diego]

The Fox network has delayed the premiere of Eliza Dushku’s supernatural drama Tru Calling, originally scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 4, until mid-season, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The network may also cut its original order of 13 episodes to six, putting the future of the struggling series in doubt.Last spring, Fox executives said that their decision to bring the show back for a second season demonstrated their willingness to be patient and give shows with potential time to find an audience, the trade paper reported. But budgetary concerns and the popularity of the network’s reality programming may have become a factor. The Hawaii-based drama North Shore will now air on Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT instead.
